Economics and Business at Wellington College is seeking an inspiring educator to nurture curiosity, ambition and strong academic foundations in Economics.
Wellington College is a vibrant, innovative and values‑driven community where pupils are encouraged to think boldly, challenge themselves and discover the joy of learning. We are now seeking a passionate Teacher of Economics to join our dynamic teaching body and contribute to the rich academic and pastoral culture that defines the College.
As part of our thriving Economics and Business Department, you will help shape the learning of pupils aged 13–18 across A Level and the IB Diploma Programme. The department is one of the most popular and successful in the Upper School, with a culture that celebrates intellectual curiosity, lively debate and the exploration of contemporary global issues. Teaching takes place in specialist classrooms designed for discussion‑based learning, enabling pupils to grow in confidence, independence and analytical sophistication.
Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, Wellington offers an inspiring environment in which to teach and learn. Our seven‑day‑a‑week boarding and day community allows teachers to build meaningful relationships with pupils and to contribute to a holistic educational experience that extends far beyond the classroom. You will play an important part in fostering pupils’ character, wellbeing and ambition, while supporting them through key academic milestones and potential university pathways, including highly competitive courses.
In this role, you will bring energy, subject expertise and a commitment to outstanding teaching. You will design engaging lessons that challenge pupils to think critically, communicate effectively and connect economic concepts to the world around them. Alongside classroom teaching, you will contribute to the department’s enrichment activities, which may include academic societies, competitions, discussion groups, reading initiatives or outreach engagements with partner schools. Your pastoral involvement, such as tutoring within a House, will be central to supporting each pupil’s wider development.
We are looking for an educator who thrives in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment and who is motivated by continual professional growth. In return, you will join a warm, ambitious and supportive community that places values, wellbeing and intellectual endeavour at the heart of school life.
