Philanthropy and Engagement Associate
Up to £28,000 per annum
Closing Date: Noon, 23rd September Millfield School is seeking an enthusiastic and relationship-focused Philanthropy and Engagement Associate to join our Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening engagement with our alumni community, supporting philanthropic initiatives, and helping to create meaningful connections that inspire lifelong friendships, goodwill and support for Millfield's charitable mission.
About the Role Working closely with the Development Manager (Engagement), you will help deliver an ambitious engagement and philanthropy programme, connecting Old Millfieldians across generations and around the world.
The role is varied and rewarding, combining relationship management, fundraising support, event coordination, communications, data analysis and project delivery. One day you might be developing a regular giving campaign, while the next you're supporting an alumni reunion, creating content for communications, or analysing engagement data to help shape future strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and delivering alumni engagement programmes, events and networking opportunities.
- Coordinating fundraising campaigns, appeals and donor stewardship activities.
- Building strong relationships with Old Millfieldians, donors, volunteers and supporters.
- Producing engaging communications and digital content across a range of channels.
- Managing and maintaining accurate CRM and supporter data.
- Analysing engagement and giving trends to inform future activity.
- Supporting initiatives that encourage alumni to give back through mentoring, volunteering, careers support and philanthropy.
About You We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who enjoys building relationships and managing projects from start to finish.
You will ideally have:
- Experience working with databases or CRM systems, including reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A genuine interest in relationship building, engagement, philanthropy or fundraising.
Experience within education, alumni relations, fundraising, membership organisations or charitable development would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Salary & Benefits - Up to £28,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
- 37.5 hours per week, working year-round (52 weeks per year).
- Monday to Friday working pattern.
- Occasional evening and weekend work required.
- Opportunity for remote working up to two days per week, subject to business needs and manager approval.
