Role: Chef Apprenticeship Trainer and Assessor
Location: Ideally based in Milton Keynes, this is afield-based role with regular travel to employer and EduBase Academy sites.
Contract: Permanent 37.5 hours/week | 52 weeks/year.
Working pattern: Monday-Friday.
Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum | Company car.

About you
- You must hold a recognised assessor qualification: This is an essential requirement for the role. You will already hold a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA),or another recognised equivalent assessor qualification. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applicants who do not currently hold a suitable assessor qualification.
- You have strong catering or chef experience: You bring solid, hands-on occupational experience from the catering industry, ideally gained as a Chef, Head Chef, Catering Manager or in a similar role. You will have the occupational knowledge and credibility to confidently support and develop learners undertaking catering apprenticeships. A professional culinary or catering qualification would be advantageous.
- You have experience of training, assessing or developing others: You understand how to coach and assess learners against apprenticeship standards, carrying out workplace observations, reviewing evidence submitted through e-portfolios, providing constructive feedback and supporting learners to successfully progress through their programme.
- You are passionate about helping others succeed: You enjoy coaching, developing and motivating others and can adapt your approach to meet individual learner needs. You will build positive relationships with learners and employers and provide the encouragement, challenge and support needed to help learners achieve.
- You are confident delivering face-to-face training: You will deliver engaging group training sessions at our EduBase Academy sites in Newport Pagnell, Oxford and Southall, as well as within learners' workplaces, using your industry knowledge and understanding of apprenticeship standards to bring learning to life.
- You are an advocate for safeguarding: You understand the importance of safeguarding and will always promote the wellbeing and safety of the children in our nurseries, your learners and your colleagues.
- You are collaborative: You enjoy working in partnership with colleagues, employers and external professionals. You can tailor your communication and teaching style to different audiences, contribute to regular standardisation meetings and direct and support learners to appropriate resources in preparation for achieving Functional Skills.
