We are looking for a Head of PSHE to lead and develop a high-quality, inclusive programme at Chantry Academy in Ipswich, ensuring that all students are supported to grow academically, socially and personally. This role brings together curriculum leadership, team development and a strong moral purpose, with a focus on raising standards, promoting wellbeing and embedding values that prepare students for life beyond school. Working closely with colleagues and the wider community, the postholder will champion the importance of PSHE, model excellent practice and build a culture where every student feels safe, understood and able to succeed.
Summary of Key Responsibilities- Lead the strategic development of PSHE, establishing a clear vision, policies and improvement plans aligned with whole-school priorities
- Oversee a well-sequenced curriculum and assessment approach, ensuring consistent, high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of teaching through lesson visits, work scrutiny and student feedback, using findings to drive improvement
- Lead, support and develop staff, including coaching, CPD and performance management
- Promote students' personal development, wellbeing and safeguarding, ensuring the curriculum meets the needs of all learners
