School Manager (Health Sciences)
Grade/Salary: Grade 8: £44,746 - £56,535 (with possible progression to £63,606)
Hours: Full Time (35.75 hours per week)

This senior post supports the Dean of School, Health Sciences, in the day-to-day organisation of the School through the effective co-ordination, management and leadership of the School administrative teams. The postholder provides advice to academic and support staff within the School across a full range of activities, including quality assurance and regulatory compliance. The postholder supports the School strategic planning process and governance arrangements, and provides an effective Secretariat to the School and University level committees, including those governing UK and transnational partners.
The post involves a considerable degree of autonomy in the day-to-day organisation of work, and involves regular contact with staff at all levels within and external to the University. There are regular opportunities to participate in and influence a considerable range of strategic developments within the University, including portfolio development. The post is therefore particularly suited to those interested in progressing to the highest levels of university administration.
You will be educated to graduate level or equivalent, with at least 5 years of relevant administrative experience, preferably within Higher Education. You will demonstrate experience of managing an administrative team involving a broad spectrum of roles or activities to achieve agreed targets and actions, and experience of policy development. You will be IT literate and an effective communicator who is able to motivate staff and develop effective working relationships with staff at all levels across the University.
